1/4" SCALE MERMAID & LADIES
These are a couple more of the 1 3/8" tall commissioned dolls I've sculpted within the past few months. I don't have photos of all of them because I usually just print out photos of the dolls I make for my own records and don't keep them on on my computer. You'll notice I mostly sculpt the clothing rather than dressing the dolls with fabrics. I prefer to sculpt clothing because I am more comfortable working with clay than fabric and can get more authentic detailing, perfect fit and show draping far better than is possible with fabric in this tiny scale. I don't think of myself specifically as a dollmaker because I love sculpting & otherwise creating so many other tiny things - foods, accessories, furniture, plants, for example - and to limit myself to one thing would drive me crazy (crazier?).
